LLF Michigan, Program Partner of The Dollywood Foundation
The Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan is the Program Partner (aka Affiliate) for several Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library programs in Marquette and Alger Counties.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails one new book per month to each child from birth to age five with no cost, obligation, or income requirement for the child’s family. All preschool age children (birth to age 5) in the community are eligible to receive one age-appropriate monthly in the mail addressed to the child while enrolled in the program. Parents or guardians must register online or submit an official registration form completed by an authorized adult to enroll the child in the program.
The Dollywood Foundation is responsible for selecting, processing, mailing and managing the distribution of over 2.8 million books a month throughout the United States and four other countries.
LLF Michigan is the Program Partner (aka Affiliate) for the Marquette-Alger sites listed below.
LLF Michigan is both the Program Partner, and Local Champion and Sponsor, for Marquette 49855. In the Marquette 49855 area LLF Michigan is responsible for paying $26 annually for the cost of the books and their mailing, maintaining the database, and marketing the program.
In other programs listed below, the Local Champion and Sponsor registers the children, maintains the database, and markets the program in their community. The local school district in the area serves in this role as noted below.
The Marquette-Alger RESA currently assists with funding in Marquette and Alger Counties, but funding is primarily the responsibility of the local program unless stated otherwise with LLF Michigan available to assist temporarily.

The school district serves as the Local Champion and Sponsor, maintaining the database, registering children, and funding the program. MARQUETTE AREA 49855
LLF Michigan is the Program Partner and the Local Champion and Sponsor for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for the Greater Marquette Area. Initiated in 2020, this program serves approximately 260 children monthly in the 49855-zip code area. Registration can be done online by clicking here or by using the blue DPIL Online Registration button at the top of the page. In some instances, you will need to enter your zip code & follow prompts to reach the 49855-registration page. You can also download the registration form from the website by going to Special Projects and DPIL registration to print the form.
POWELL TOWNSHIP SCHOOL
LLF Michigan became the Program Partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for the Powell Township Public School in late spring 2023, and currently assists with funding. The school district serves as the Local Champion for registration questions. There is a 50% overlap with Marquette 49855 registration addresses.
